Hasan Abdal is an ancient town situated 45 kilometers from Rawalpindi to the mountain’s western 
side.The place is hilly.There are several places which have natural fountains.Usually saintly people 
take up residence there.At Hasan Abdal,close to natural waterfall, Wali Qandhari had built a celeberated dera.The dera had special purpose for giving boon to the man of faith and punishing the unbelievers. In Baisakh Guru Nanak  and Bhai  Mardana met Hasan Abdal.
During Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s reign Gurudwara Panja (lit. palm) was created as Sahib.Its power remained with line of mahants until it was occupied on 17-18 September 1920 by Jathedar Kartar Singh Jhabbar and his small  band of Akali Reformers.
