Bahawalpur, is a town in Pakistan’s province of Punjab. Bahawalpur is Pakistan’s 11th-largest city, with an estimated 798,509 population. Bahawalpur was established in 1748 as the capital of the former princely state of Bahawalpur, which was ruled by the Nawabs Abbasi family until 1955.
Located in the southern part of the province of Punjab, the district of Bahawalpur is bordered by India to the south and southeast, Bahawalnagar to the north, Vehari, Lodhran and Multan to the north, Rahimyar Khan to the west and Muzaffargarh to the northwest.
