GB remained the center of Buddhism and many remains of religion exist from Tibet to Diamer district.

large number of tourists from Japan, China and Korea visit the area each year to conduct rituals  at their  religious sites.
It is about ten kilometers east of Gilgit.It is carved image of huge, standing Buddha in Kargha Nala’s cliff-face. The carving, which is also found in style in Baltistan, possibly dates back to the 7th century. 
The elevation is 50 ft.The figure, according to local mythology, is actually man eating giants or witch who terrorized local residents and was eventually punished by pir (holy pious man) to the cliff.
