Nanga Parbat is not a single mountain but consists of a sequence of 20 km long peaks and ridges that culminate in an ice crest of (8.125 m).The South Face known as the Rupal Face (5,000 m) high,while the North or Raikot Face is one of the deepest gorge in the world, plunging down (7,000 m) from the summit to the Indus.It was first climbed by an Austrian- German joint expedition in 1953.During a tortous 41 hours solo ordeal without oxygen Hermann Buhl made the final climb.In 1970,the Italian mountaineer Reinhold Messner, with his brother Gunther, Climbed the south face (Rupal Face) down the Diamir Face.There have been only five southerly ascents to date.
Nanga Parbat Base Camp Trek is certainly one of the world’s most scenic treks.Nanga Parbat is the world’s ninth highest peak, and second highest after K2 in Pakistan.It is situated in Gilgit Baltistan District of Diamir, Pakistan. Nanga Parbat is Himalayan Western Anchor. She is divided by the mighty Indus River from the Karakoram range. It rises directly from the Val d’Indus.

Morning drive to Chilas passing through the enchanting valleys of Mansehra and Kohistan along the mighty Indus river, enroute visit the ancient rock carvings at Shatial and Chilas. Overnight hotel.
Morning drive to Thalichi, from here by 4-WD jeep through the narrow Astore Gorge and scenic mountain villages up to Tarishing where the jeep road ends and the trek starts. Overnight in local Inn.
First day of trek. Cross the Chunghphere Glacier and continue an easy, gentle walk on the green slopes of Rupal village. Cross the Bazin Glacier to enter the wide meadows of Latobo and reach the traditional base camp (Herrligkoffer) of Nanga Parbat. Meals and overnight in tents.

Morning walk to Tato village and drive by 4-WD jeeps to Raikot Bridge at the KKH, from here we continue our way to Chilas. Overnight in hotel.
